To help you plan your visit, there are following a few notes which might make your stay more comfortable
It is recommended that guests make use of The Nare's Map and Directions to ensure one's journey to the hotel is as straight forward as possible. Although a few Cornish lanes are required to reach the hotel, the narrow ones can be avoided by using these directions and following the brown signs from Tregony (5 miles inland), ignoring the Sat Nav if necessary.
The Nare Door to Door Chauffeur Service is available for guests to travel to the hotel in comfort, directly from their home. The fleet includes the luxurious Range Rover and Mercedes 8 seated vehicle. The Chauffeur Service is also available to take guests on local day visits, whether it be to local gardens, Tate St Ives, The Maritime Museum, Land's End, The Minack Theatre or shopping trips to Falmouth or Truro. Day visits are available by appointment at reasonable rates, or at £120 per half day (4 hours) or £240 per full day (8 hours).
There is a “Jacket and Tie” guideline in the more formal Dining Room in the evening and a more relaxed atmosphere on The Quarterdeck. This is a guideline, since there are no set rules, and as an indicator so guests know what to expect in the evening. We ask as a courtesy to others to respect the dress style that most guests prefer.
Children under seven are expected on The Quarterdeck for Children’s Early Supper between 5.30pm-6.15pm and not in the Dining Room for dinner. For those children who are more grown up and would like to dine with their parents, Family Dining will be available between 6.30pm and 7.30pm on The Quarterdeck and a modified menu will be available between 7pm and 7.30pm in the Dining Room. For orders after these times only the full à la carte or table d’ hôte menu will be served in the respective restaurants and the full set price charged. Grown up prices for grown up behaviour!
The hotel boats operate from April to September. Alice Rose, the 38ft classic gentleman's motor launch has scheduled sailings on Tuesdays and Fridays. Guests may book a space on a scheduled sailing (up to a maximum of eight), for £95 per person, which includes return transfers to the boat and a delicious picnic lunch served on board. Private charters with her Coxswain and Chief Steward are available by appointment from £480 per day. Maggie O'Nare, the 22ft Cornish Crabber sailing boat, is available for skippered private charter at £230 per half day or £290 per full day.
