CHILDREN AT THE NARE

The Nare is ideal for family holidays and perfect for gatherings of several generations. It offers seclusion away from the busy resorts with more than enough to do to satisfy all members of the family.

The outdoor swimming pool is heated from May to mid-September and the indoor pool is always warm. The tennis court is a great attraction for the more athletic members of the family and the croquet lawn is an opportunity for all ages to have fun.

The safe, sandy beach with shallows, rock pools and an easy approach from the garden is a child's paradise. The sheltered bay is perfect for safe swimming and there are many other activities to choose from and the concierge is there to make bespoke arrangements for families.

Several of our suites and rooms are specially designed to accommodate families and, for those holidaying without their nanny, baby-sitting can be arranged with Reception. To avoid disappointment on arrival please contact Reception in advance to arrange baby-sitting. A baby-listening service is also provided by the ladies in Reception.

Children's early dinner is served on The Quarterdeck since young guests are not expected in the Dining Room in the evenings. For families who wish to dine together The Quarterdeck Restaurant is a popular proposition and is much appreciated as an additional alternative.

In our sea view suite on the day of departure, four-year old Jow, who is far too used to getting his own way, sidled up to me and asked: "Can you pack room up and take it home with us?

WELL BEHAVED DOGS WELCOME

A stay at The Nare is just as enjoyable for four-legged guests as it is for their owners. With the beach just below the hotel and miles of coastal and countryside walks to explore, it is an ideal setting for a holiday with your dog.

The Nare is a dog friendly hotel

Dogs are warmly welcomed in the bedrooms and around the grounds, with plenty of space to stretch their legs before setting off for the day. The surrounding area offers everything from relaxed beach walks to longer routes along the South West Coast Path, all with sweeping coastal views.

Overlooking a grand sweep of a beach, The Nare is a bastion of tradition yet also extremely family and dog friendly.

After a day outdoors, dogs can enjoy their own dedicated dogs’ table d’hôte menu, specially prepared so they can dine just as well as their owners and enjoy a proper end to the day.

Carne and Pendower beaches are both just moments away and welcome dogs all year round, making them perfect for a run on the sand or a paddle in the sea.

For those making the most of the outdoors, The Nare’s Boot Room is stocked with wellington boots and walking gear, with a drying room available for any wet or muddy clothing after a day out.
