CHILDREN AT THE NARE

The Nare is ideal for family holidays and perfect for gatherings of several generations. It offers seclusion away from the busy resorts with more than enough to do to satisfy all members of the family.

The outdoor swimming pool is heated from May to mid-September and the indoor pool is always warm. The tennis court is a great attraction for the more athletic members of the family and the croquet lawn is an opportunity for all ages to have fun.

The safe, sandy beach with shallows, rock pools and an easy approach from the garden is a child's paradise. The sheltered bay is perfect for safe swimming and there are many other activities to choose from and the concierge is there to make bespoke arrangements for families.

Several of our suites and rooms are specially designed to accommodate families and, for those holidaying without their nanny, baby-sitting can be arranged with Reception. To avoid disappointment on arrival please contact Reception in advance to arrange baby-sitting. A baby-listening service is also provided by the ladies in Reception.

Children's early dinner is served on The Quarterdeck since young guests are not expected in the Dining Room in the evenings. For families who wish to dine together The Quarterdeck Restaurant is a popular proposition and is much appreciated as an additional alternative.

In our sea view suite on the day of departure, four-year old Jow, who is far too used to getting his own way, sidled up to me and asked: "Can you pack room up and take it home with us?

The Nare is a dog friendly hotel

As with all guests at The Nare those with special dietary requirements and desires are well looked after. The dogs' à la carte menu has a wider choice. Outdoorsy types and working dogs that don't need to come into the hotel may prefer instead to stay in the working dogs’ kennels on self-catering terms, for which there is no charge.

Overlooking a grand sweep of a beach, The Nare is a bastion of tradition yet also extremely family and dog friendly.

Dogs are welcome to "stretch their legs" in the field behind the car park. There is also plenty of opportunity for walks along the coastal footpath and on the beach.

For the summer months it is requested dogs are kept on their leads whilst on the beach during the daytime. Biodegradable dog bags are available from reception and dog bins provided. The hotel has wellies for guests to use whilst at the hotel and there is a drying room for any wet clobber.
