The Nare is the 5 star country house hotel by the sea and has been Cornwall's highest rated luxury hotel for over 30 years. Renowned for its traditional, unobtrusive service and spectacular sea views over Carne Beach, the hotel offers standards of comfort and service that are increasingly difficult to find.

The Nare is set in some 8 acres and features 40 spacious rooms and suites, a traditional dining room, the fine dining Quarterdeck restaurant, and a comprehensive range of leisure facilities including tennis court, croquet lawn, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a health spa, and a classic 38’ motor launch, Alice Rose.

The addition of The Nare's new Whittington Suites - exceedingly comfortable and spacious sea view suites at the western end of the hotel - means there are positions available for a Commis Chef, Chef de Partie, Breakfast Chef, Senior Pastry Chef and Pastry Chef de Partie, to join the well-established team.


We have a moderate-sized brigade which runs 2 kitchens. Our traditional dining room has 1 AA rosette and serves breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner. The food is silver served and a firm favourite with residents. Dinner service is high intensity with 70-80 guests served per night.


This is a very high quality operation and accordingly, candidates must have a significant aspiration to working in a luxury hotel. Whilst at one level this is a traditional business, it is also progressive, and candidates should be able to demonstrate a much more contemporary outlook on life and an ability to adapt to a fast-moving, busy operation. You will need a solid background and access to your own transport in order for this position to be viable. This role is not for the journey-man or relief chef.
