Assistant Reservations and Reception Manager

Responsible for supervising both departments and supporting the Office Manager with day to day administration

BACKGROUND

The Nare is the 5 star country house hotel by the sea and Cornwall's highest rated luxury hotel. Renowned for its traditional, unobtrusive service and spectacular sea views over Carne Beach, the hotel offers standards of comfortable luxury and service that are increasingly difficult to find nowadays.

The Nare is set in some 8 acres and features 37 spacious rooms and suites, a traditional Dining Room, a fine dining restaurant - The Quarterdeck - and a comprehensive range of leisure facilities including tennis court, croquet lawn, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a health spa, and a classic 38’ motor launch, Alice Rose, for guest excursions.

The Nare is about to enter a phase of significant growth with the addition of four very spacious sea-view suites in 2021 and further large sea-view suites and cottages to follow.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The key focus of the role will be to supervise The Nare's reception and reservation teams to ensure the highest level of service from the moment the guest arrives, and to assist the Office Manager in day to day administration tasks.

The successful candidate will support the reception team with guest requirements and bespoke services, to ensure good relationships are built with guests; at the same time you will be required to maintain an interest in and comprehensive understanding of sales and revenue.

The role demands that the appointee is highly efficient and organised. Candidates must be standards driven as the service given to all guests is of the highest level and importance. Effective communication will be a critical element of this role, and candidates need to be able to confidently recall instructions from the Office Manager to individual team members.

This is a high-quality operation and accordingly, candidates must have had significant exposure to top-quality hotel and leisure environments. Whilst on one hand this is a traditional business, it is also progressive and candidates should be able to demonstrate a much more contemporary outlook on life and an ability to adapt to a fast-moving, busy operation.

Motivated and passionate individuals are recognised, and growth and development are encouraged by higher management. Whilst the successful candidate will be supported in all aspects of the role by the Office Manager, they will also be expected to use their own initiative and take responsibility. In the absence of the Office Manager the successful candidate will be required to manage both departments effectively.

Whilst all of the above is mandatory The Nare is also looking for someone who will fit in with the fun family of staff. Candidates must be able to build a rapport with others with the ultimate goal of enjoying their work.

JOB SUMMARY

Type: Full time, permanent

Salary: £19,500 - £21,500 per year 

Schedule: Monday to Friday, Weekends

Experience: Reservations: 1 year (preferred), Customer Service: 1 year (preferred)

Licence: Driving (preferred)
