Things to do in and around Cornwall

What's On Cornwall

The Merry Widow Production | 7 October 2010

This unique new version is set amidst the celebrations in Maxim’s, a run-down cabaret bar in East Berlin on November 9th, 1989 - the night the despised Berlin Wall finally comes down. Two long-separated lovers are re-united amidst an exuberant gathering of die-hard Bohemian writers artists and poets, who join together to celebrate love, art, freedom and a new hope for the future of Germany. Can love survive 28 years of physical and ideological distance?

As part of its ongoing commitment to bring opera to the wider community, Duchy Opera are collaborating for the first time with the Cornish rural arts touring scheme, Carn To Cove, for performances at Newlyn (01736 365890) and Mevagissey (01726 842291). Tickets for all other performances are available from Cornish Riviera Box Office on 01726 879500 or online at www.crbo.co.uk , £10, U18s £5. Performances start 7.30pm.
