Make the most of life by the water

On the water

Life in Cornwall is bound up with the sea and a visit here enables you to experience the water from many different perspectives.

Enjoy the creekside beauty of St. Just-in-Roseland Church, which dates from AD 550 and nestles by the water amongst camellias, rhododendrons and sub-tropical plants. From here walk along the coastal path to St. Mawes Castle and the picturesque harbour. The excellent Fal River Company operate a series of ferries connecting Falmouth, St Mawes, Truro and many smaller places in between. Ferry timetables are kept at the hotel.

Sailing is available at The Nare on the hotel's own yacht, Maggie O'Nare. Individual tuition on smaller boats can also be organised from a number of places close to the hotel.

A number of high profile events including Falmouth and Fowey Regattas and the magnificent Tall Ships race also take place in this part of Cornwall.
